This is an interesting development. An appeal to those Covid scheme recipients who took money they were not entitled to or did not need and for them to repay the money on a "no questions asked" basis.- New voluntary repayment scheme gives individuals and businesses until December 2025 to return pandemic scheme money, no questions asked.
- Use it or lose it opportunity comes ahead of tougher sanctions to follow for those who don’t come forward.
- Move comes as government continues to do everything in its power to recoup money lost to Covid fraud.
I will be fascinated to see how this goes. Absolutely no chance of the really naughty people getting involved surely.
However, perhaps there are a few out there that are continuing to look over their shoulder and this might be enough to convince them to come forward.
I cannot lie, I am very doubtful based upon the characters I come across who intentionally took money they were not entitled to.
