Martin specialises in corporate insolvency and turnaround, audit and strategic planning and is senior partner of the practice. Martin has wide commercial experience being a director of a property development company and former chairman of a not-for-profit company operating in the leisure sector.
Martin also has a significant involvement in the local business community and voluntary organisations; Martin is Chairman of Westminster Circle, Old Suttonians Association and Old Suttonians Football Club as well as President of Sutton Federation and is past-President and vice Chairman of the Amateur Football Combination.

James specialises in insolvency and along with Martin and Andrew, heads up our insolvency department. James joined the practice in 1988, qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1996 and also qualifying as a licensed insolvency practitioner in 2002.

Andrew specialises in corporate recovery and turnaround assignments working with business owners, lenders and other stakeholders from an advisory perspective through to formal insolvency procedures. During his career at two London based insolvency practices and Turpin Barker Armstrong his sector experience has been varied and his work has involved assisting many small owner manager businesses through to dealing with several high profile restructuring assignments. Andrew has extensive experience of business recovery procedures including solvent and insolvent liquidations, company and partnership voluntary arrangements as well as administrations. Andrew regularly works with lenders where there are concerns over director conduct or fraud and forensic investigations are necessary. In addition, Andrew has worked on a number of Fixed Charge Receiver assignments.

Katie joined the firm in March 2016 bringing with her over five years’ experience in insolvency, with a particular focus on corporate appointments. She placed as a prize-winner when she obtained her CPI qualification in 2013.
Katie is a keen netballer and enjoys travelling and socialising with friends and family.

Ryan joined TBA in 2004 and, barring a 6 month break to travel the world, has been part of the Insolvency department ever since. Initially joining as a junior member of staff, he worked his way up in the practice and was made Partner in April 2021.
Ryan specialises in corporate insolvency procedures, particularly voluntary liquidations and administrations, and has dealt with various sectors, including the restaurant industry, construction, and solicitor/IFA firms. He also assists in agreeing informal arrangements with creditors (including HMRC) for both corporate entities and individuals.
Outside of work he enjoys playing football and golf, and is a bit of a movie buff!

Having obtained a degree in Biochemistry Lindsey joined a mid-tier accountancy practice in London as an audit junior in 1989, transferring to the insolvency and corporate recovery department in 1991. Lindsey qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 and went on to sit the JIEB exams in November 1997, achieving a first time pass, and getting her licence in early 1998. Lindsey’s experience in London was mainly of administrative receiverships, company voluntary arrangements and voluntary liquidations, together with more latterly some experience of independent business reviews on behalf of banks.
After 13 years in London and 2 children later, Lindsey decided to move out of London to be closer to home and joined Turpin Barker Armstrong in 2003. Since joining TBA Lindsey has also gained experience in personal insolvency as well as continuing to work on corporate insolvency.

Phil joined the TBA West Byfleet Office (formerly Gibson Hewitt) in 2001. He qualified as a chartered accountant with the ICAEW in 2004 and subsequently studied for the Joint Insolvency Examination Board (“JIEB”) exams achieving a 1st time pass in 2006. He was granted FCA status by the ICAEW in 2014.
Phil has been a manager since 2006 working in all areas of personal and corporate insolvency.
As former elite level marathon runner, Phil can still be found at the gym each morning but admits adopting a far more laid back attitude these days.

Carisse rejoined TBA after 15 years. She works in all areas of personal and corporate insolvency. Carisse is a qualified lawyer and also obtained her JIEB personal paper in 2009, she is currently studying for her LPC and MSc.
Outside of work she enjoys reading, spin classes, walking her dog and travelling.

Adele joined TBA in March 2022, she has worked in insolvency for over 25 years. She started her career with a mid-tier firm where she worked for 10 years. Adele specialises in corporate insolvency procedures and has dealt with various sectors including a solicitor/IFA firm. Adele also has experience of personal insolvency procedures.
Outside of work, Adele is at the gym every morning and likes a physical challenge, having completed the Tough Mudder course recently. Adele also enjoys playing tennis and is a keen advanced skier. She is also a member of her local village hall, organising events and functions for the village she lives in as well as regularly supporting local charity events.

Sutinder joined TBA in March 2022, with over 20 years’ experience in the industry, focusing lately, on CVLs and MVLs. Previously she managed her sole practice as a solicitor, specialising in Family Law and Medical Negligence. She then went on to qualify as a Mediator and Executive Coach, before turning to a career in Insolvency. Outside work she enjoys a full family, social, and community life including parties, games, yoga, exercise, cooking, and traveling, as well as supporting local charities.

Philippa has been working in insolvency since 2013 and has been at TBA since March 2015. Philippa manages a portfolio of cases including Administrations, Company Voluntary Arrangements, Voluntary Liquidations, Compulsory Liquidations, Receiverships, Individual Voluntary Arrangements and Bankruptcies. Philippa obtained her CPI qualification in 2014 and is currently working her way through the ACCA exams to become a chartered certified accountant.
Philippa is a big foodie, and in her spare time enjoys cooking and socialising with friends although her great love in life is to travel.

Sylwia joined TBA in October 2017, working as a Senior Insolvency Consultant. Sylwia is a Polish professional who has lived in the UK since 2003, she is a member of several groups of polish professionals including Polish Professionals, Polish Business Link and Women’s Business Link of which she is one of the Co-Founders.
Outside of work Sylwia enjoys snowboarding and basketball.

Jana joined Gibson Hewitt as an Insolvency Administrator during January 2017 after completing his Masters in Banking & Finance. He is currently studying towards his ACA qualification. In his spare time he can be found modifying his car or playing around with the latest gadgets.

Lauren has recently joined the firm, having many years’ experience in insolvency. Lauren started her insolvency career in May 2012 with a caseload of predominantly MVL’s and CVL’s. She has since expanded her knowledge with BKY’s and WUC’s. Lauren is a big foodie and in her spare time she likes to eat out at new restaurants. SHe also enjoys spending time with friends and family and is currently a happy hammer!

Matt joined TBA in February 2007 after earning a degree at St Mary’s University and has since gained vast experience in corporate insolvency, including Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations, Compulsory Liquidations and Administrations.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys socialising and spending time with his family and friends, as well as playing and following most sports, including cricket, golf and football.

Vedeena has recently joined the firm, having over 12 years’ experience in insolvency. Vedeena spent over 11 years working for a mid-tier accountancy firm in the City and has experience in dealing with both personal and corporate cases, including complex bankruptcies and investigation work. Vedeena manages a mixed caseload of personal and corporate cases.
Vedeena has a degree in law and is CPI qualified. She is currently studying towards her JIEB qualification and is a member of the R3 womens networking.
Away from work, Vedeena spends time with her family and two young boys and enjoys baking and cake decoration.

Ayomide joined the firm in October 2020 bringing with her over three years’ experience in insolvency, with experience in corporate appointments including but not limited to Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations, Members’ Voluntary Liquidations and Administrations. She is currently studying towards her ACCA qualification to become a chartered certified accountant.
Outside of work, Ayomide enjoys travelling and socialising with friends.

Dawn joined TBA in May 2022 bringing with her over 4 years’ previous experience in insolvency, having previously worked for Bridgewood in Nottingham and Larking Gowen LLP in Norwich. Dawn’s main experience has been in corporate Liquidations and her caseload has primarily consisted of Members’ Voluntary Liquidations, Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations and the occasional Compulsory Liquidation, Bankruptcy and Administration.
Outside of work, Dawn enjoys travelling (specially via cruise ships – having spent over 180 days at sea and counting), spending time with family and friends and loves to watch a good movie.

John joined TBA’s Insolvency team in April 2018, having previously worked for MHA Macintyre Hudson where he started his Insolvency career in 2013.
John has experience in both personal and corporate insolvency and his caseload has primarily consisted of Members’ Voluntary Liquidations, Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations, Compulsory Liquidations and the occasional Bankruptcy.
Away from work, John enjoys attending boxing and football events, trying different cuisines and socialising with friends and family.

Natalie started working at TBA in February 2009, where she managed a portfolio of mainly Corporate Insolvency cases. Natalie currently works on a part time basis, dealing primarily with case closures.
When not in the office, Natalie runs a small business from home baking cakes. She also volunteers with Surrey Police as an Independent Custody Visitor and as a Circle Member for Circles South East, mentoring sex offenders. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, running and spending time with her young children. .

Victoria joined TBA in March 2017 and has over 10 years Corporate Restructuring experience from a big four firm. Victoria’s experience includes complex trading insolvencies to smaller cases including advisory work. Victoria primarily deals with corporate insolvency case closure.
Victoria works part time and is in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Chris joined TBA in March 2020 after completing a placement year at Gibson Hewitt between 2017 and 2018. In 2019, he obtained a BA (Hons) in Financial Management for Business from the University of Portsmouth.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys watching and playing football as well as socialising with his friends.

Joel is currently studying sport and exercise science at the university of Chichester. Joel works at the firm during breaks between his studies.
During his free time, Joel enjoys playing and watching most sports especially football as well as socialising with friends.

Kieran joined tba in April 2019 and is new to insolvency having spent the last few years working in customer service. He attended the University of Southampton, obtaining a BSc in Economics.
In his spare time Kieran likes playing football and watching all kinds of sports. He’s a huge music lover who enjoys going to concerts regularly and even producing his own music.

Tom joined the firm in August 2016, working as a Junior Administrator during his gap year. Tom then studied History and Politics at the University of Sheffield, before staying for another year to complete a Master’s in Politics. He continued to work for the firm throughout this time during breaks in his studies. Tom returned to the firm on a full time basis in September 2021. In his spare time, Tom enjoys playing and watching football as well as socialising with friends.

Dominic joined the firm as a Junior Administrator in March 2022. He obtained a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Management from the University of Kent.
Outside of work, Dominic enjoys travelling, listening to music, watching football and films, as well as socialising with friends and family.

Ilyas joined the firm as a Junior Administrator in August 2021. Outside of work, Ilyas does karate and enjoys watching sports such as football, basketball and MMA. He likes playing video games and watching TV, as well as socialising with friends and family.

Jacob joined the firm as a Junior Administrator in January 2022, after studying History at University. He enjoys playing Rugby, and watching Football; supporting Southend United. Outside of work, Jacob likes to cook, write and socialise with friends..

Jake joined the firm as a Junior Administrator in October 2021 before he commences his studies in Spanish and Chinese at University.
Jake enjoys watching TV series and playing golf, he hopes to go travelling throughout Latin America.

Jason joined the firm as a Junior Administrator in August 2021 and will be working with the firm for a year until he resumes his studies in Financial Mathematics at the University of Nottingham. During his free time Jason enjoys playing video games on his pc with friends as well as mountain biking on the local trails at the weekends.

Jed joined the firm as a Junior Administrator in January 2022. In his spare time Jed enjoys cycling as well as playing and watching football. He also enjoys watching movies and socialising with friends and family.

Jet finished his studies at Sutton Grammar school in 2019, he will be working at the firm for a year prior to commencing further studies in Law at the University of Exeter. During his spare time, Jet likes playing and watching sports such as rugby and cricket, he is also a Chelsea F.C. fan. When not on a sports field Jet enjoys socialising with friends and family.

John joined TBA in November 2020 as a Junior Insolvency Administrator. He attended the University of Sheffield, where he studied Biology and Microbiology.
In his spare time he enjoys playing and watching football, supporting Spurs. He also enjoys going to the gym and socialising with friends.

William joined the firm as a Junior Administrator in August 2021 for his placement year at Loughborough University where he is studying Bsc Economics. In his spare time he enjoys playing football, supporting Everton, and going to the gym. He also enjoys socialising with friends and family and has aspirations to go travelling following his degree.

Kelly joined TBA in May 2019. Kelly has worked in the accountancy profession for over 20 years and as an insolvency cashier for 6 years in the City of London.
In her spare time Kelly likes socialising with friends and family, travelling and shopping!
Kelly has a keen interest in psychology and obtained a psychology degree back in July 2015.

Linda has worked as a Insolvency Cashier since October 2009. She has a background of 33 years working as a Legal Cashier in solicitor practices having qualifies as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Cashiers and Administrators.
In her own time she has also qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.
Linda is married and has a grown up daughter. She spends her spare time helping to look after her daughter's horse, as well as gardening and card making.

Jane joined TBA (formerly Gibson Hewitt) in 2009 and is a PA to Partners Andrew Bailey and James Patchett.
When she is not working she is chauffeur to her teenage daughter, she also likes pottering in her garden and trying to keep fit.

Samantha has been at TBA since July 2015 as Executive Assistant for the Senior Partner, Martin Armstrong.

Lily joined TBA at the end of 2021 and is currently training to be a PA within the firm. Previously she worked in recruitment and gained experience in a variety of admin settings, but has always wanted to develop her organisational skills as a PA. In her spare time, she loves socialising, travel and watching films.

Karen is the first friendly face that greets you when you call or visit tba. Karen joined the practice as a receptionist in October 2004 and has been an integral part of the team since.
Away from work Karen enjoys gardening and sports.

Denise joined the Practice in December 1999 and is our IT Manager. Denise’s responsibilities include planning and overseeing the smooth running of the IT department. Denise also creates compliance policies, procedures and forms for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Outside work, Denise enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking, mindfulness, yoga, theatre, gardening and cooking.

Our longest serving member of staff, Sarah, has been with the practice since 1984. With a wide range of responsibilities Sarah ensures that the office runs smoothly and efficiently– and if it doesn’t – she sorts it!
A previous Akela and Brown Owl, Sarah is still involved in scouting in her spare time. She also enjoys travelling, eating out and being taken for a walk by her Border Collie.

Specialising in digital marketing Hannah deals with the whole firms marketing needs. Prior to commencing her marketing role Hannah was PA to Martin for 7 years where she gained valuable knowledge of the firm. Hannah's marketing role focuses on increasing brand awareness and the online presence of the firm.
Hannah works part-time Monday - Thursday however she can be contacted any time by email or on her mobile 0777 659 7066.
Outside of work Hannah plays hockey for Croydon and Old Whitgiftians HC, she loves hiking, golf and any other outside activity.

Joining the Practice at the beginning of 2022, Ryan oversees TBA's internal human resources and the practice Finances.
Outside work Ryan plays and watches a lot of football as well as coaching a youth team. He also enjoys holidays with his family.

David joined TBA in Oct 2018 with a remit to setup a finance division having spent the last 25 years in banking, finance and credit insurance.
David brings a wealth of experience particularly in assisting business to raise finance whether through factoring / invoice discounting, stock or trade finance, hire purchase, leasing and using where appropriate, the new fintech lenders.
In today's uncertain times cash is still king and having sufficient working capital is crucial to all business.
Outside of work David is a keen Crystal Palace supporter for his sins and has spent the last 7 years driving his son around to various swimming and water polo competitions.
