Welcome to February's insolvency stats blogAll the data is taken from the monthly company insolvency statistics created by the insolvency service.
In February there were a total of 2,035 registered company insolvencies in England and Wales. This is 64 more than in January but 153 less than in February 2024. Creditors Voluntary Liquidations (CVL) continue to make up 75% of all company insolvencies.
The graph below shows the total number of company insolvencies, split by the type of insolvency, the data is from February 2020 to February 2025.
There were 2,035 registered company insolvencies in February 2025 in England & Wales
- 3% higher than last month
- 7% lower than February 2024
These figures are made up as follows:
Creditors Voluntary Liquidations - CVLs = 1,520
Compulsory liquidations =393
Administrations = 115
Company Voluntary Arrangements - CVA's = 7
Receivership =0
Moratorium = 50 between 26th June 2020 & 28th February 2025
